they may be just a pair of shoes, but they replace the old, worn-out boots that I've taken the biggest steps of my life in. they also bring me one step closer to having constructed a wardrobe that only consists of pieces that bring me pure and utter enjoyment. and they will hopefully encourage me to take even bigger steps in the future, for they will be my mentors from now on.

Stockholm was a great mini vacation, now I'm back in Helsinki again stressing over architecture assignments. I never thought getting to finally do something I truly liked would be this difficult. 

+ the only thing I bought in Stockholm apart from a black American Apparel beanie:

Scorett's rip offs of the Acne Pistol Short boots.... they only cost about a quarter of the real deal. of course the Acne ones look better and are probably of a much better quality, but they would have kind of blown my budget.

I've completely fallen for chunky black suede wedges that are everywhere right now but these shoes are something beyond that. there's something very picasso-esque in them and no matter how many people say they dislike them I have to admit I find them oddly compelling and wish they could be a part of my wardrobe.

these babies finally came home today.

they'll be g r e a t with the whole wardrobe of mine, come rain, come shine --- with dresses, chunky scarves, cape-like coats, leather jackets.....

they just need a little bit of treatment and care before I take them out for a little walk. I've never taken really good care of my shoes, but these I intend to have for a long time.

life's been giving me sweet sweet strawberries instead of the famous lemons;

the autumn is mild and warm, the people are great, there are dozens of parties coming up, I do really well in school without even making an effort AND my dear friend from Australia is coming for a visit in december! I hope there's no end to this goodness.

the list of items I would love to get for this fall is growing every day......I mean come on, look at those damn shoes. I don't know the price, don't know about the quality, I just know they'd be perfect with a cape and a chunky scarf. 

ps if you don't happen to like suede, the shoes also come in lacquer. yum. now the only thing I need is a back-and-forth trip to sweden.....

I wonder if a DIY version would look even half as good as the genuine things?

02 I can now strike through the wedge sandal part of the list  

(I already regret having spent money on such a plastic pair of shoes. they're not going to look good for long. everyone has them. not to mention the fact I don't need heels as I never wear them. ahhhh shit. but I have excuses---they were on sale. and I was in the money and hadn't bought anything for over a week (!!!) and in addition they had my size. so I went for it. )

ps the sewing project is now completed. it's just a pain in the ass to photograph. I'll try again tomorrow if the weather (----> light) is better.
