this is how my clutch turned out.... the real deal is so much better, this ended up looking a little bit too box-shaped because the skirt I used was made out of several, not just one or two patches of leather.

tonight, instead of going out, I plan to take out the sewing machine and see what I can do with an age-old leather skirt I got at the flea market for the mere price of 1€... with this Maison Martin Margiela clutch in mind.
I finally got around to making a ring out of an agate slice my dad bought me years ago from a trip down the French Alps. the problem was that I couldn't find a ring base robust enough for the large stone from anywhere, well, until this past Friday when I found a great sterling silver ring base.
the ring is so good I don't want to take it off my finger.
